At 9 o’clock this morning at the church of the Immaculate Conception, the Rev J.A. Mucaby married Timothy McSweeney and Miss Kate Griffin. James Shea and Miss Norah Driscoll were the best couple.

The funeral of Michael Sweeney, who died in his home on Baldwin Street, Saturday, will be held this morning from the church of the Immaculate Conception. Mr. Sweeney was 28 years old and leaves a widow and four children, four brothers and one sister, also his parents.

The funeral of Michael Sweeney took place this morning at the church of the Immaculate Conception, where a mass of requiem was celebrated by the Rev Father McGuan. Among the flowers was a pillow from his wife. The pallbearers were John Condon, Garret Sullivan, James Shea, Daniel and Thomas Griffin and Michael Sweeney. The interment was in the new St Joseph’s cemetery

The funeral of Timothy McSweeney took place this morning at 8:30 o’clock from his late home on Baldwin Street to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, where a requiem high mass was celebrated by the Rev Father O’Brien. The pallbearers were David Sheehy, Richard Galway, James Griffin, and Martin, John and Michael Sweeney. The interment was in St Joseph’s Cemetery.

Michael McSweeney succumbed to a five days’ attack of pneumonia Saturday afternoon at 5 o’clock at his home, rear 228 Baldwin Street. Mr. McSweeney was a well known resident of Waterbury, having lived here for thirty years, and was well thought of by those acquainted with him. He was a native of Ireland and shortly after his marriage came to this country and made Waterbury his home. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Daniel and Bartholomew of this city and one brother Bartholomew of Ireland.
The funeral will be held Monday morning with services at the Immaculate Conception church. Burial will take place at new St. Joseph’s cemetery.

Michael McSweeney died late Saturday afternoon after five days’ illness of pneumonia at his home on Reilly Place.
The funeral took place this morning to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, where a requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev Father Broderick.
The pallbearers were Matthew Shea, James O’Connell, Michael Kelly, Daniel Regan, John and Martin Sweeney. The burial was in St. Joseph’s cemetery.
Mr. McSweeney was a native of Ireland and came to Waterbury about 30 years ago, just after his marriage.
He had ever since made this his home and was well known through-out the city. He leaves his wife and two sons, Daniel and Bartholomew, and one brother, Bartholomew of Ireland.

MAXIMILLIAN MacSWEENEY
Maximillian MacSweeney died Monday in the Hahnemann Hospital Philadelphia, following a heart attack.
He was assistant to the chief inspector of Artillery in the Philadelphia Ordnance District.
He had been employed at the Depot, since July 1941 and in Government work since his discharge from the Army in 1915.
He was 53.
Mr. MacSweeney who lived at 1419 Grange Maner, Philadelphia, is survived by his wife Mrs. Helen Davison MacSweeney.
Mr. and Mrs. MacSweeney formerly lived in Faraday Park, Morton.
Funeral services will be held at Oliver Bair's 1820 Chestnut Street at 2 p. m. with viewing an Thursday evening from 7 to 9.
Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery.

Bartholomew J. Sweeney, formerly of 228 Baldwin St., died yesterday morning at the home of his brother, Daniel Sweeney, 43 Earl St., after a long illness. Born in Ireland, he had resided in Waterbury for 60 years. He was formerly in the plumbing business.

The funeral of Bartholomew J. Sweeney, formerly of 228 Baldwin St., was held yesterday from the Mulville Funeral Home to the Immaculate Conception Church for a solemn high Mass celebrated by Rev Joseph Madden, SJ. Assisting Fr. Madden were Rev. Richard Phillips and Rev. Philip Hussey. Frederick Harmon was organist and soloist. Burial was in new St. Joseph’s Cemetery with committal services by Fr. Philips. Bearers were James J., Joseph P., and John Sweeney, John O’Neil, Walter Peterson, Jr., and Charles Duhamel.

Retired City Fireman, Dies
Daniel F. Sweeney, retired member of the Waterbury Fire Department, 43 Earl St. died suddenly yesterday at his home. Dr. Edward H. Kirschbaum, medical examiner said death was due to natural causes.
He was born in Ireland, son of the late Michael and Catherine (Reardon) Sweeney. A resident of this city most of his life, he served as a member of the Fire Department for 31 years, prior to his retirement in 1949. He was last with Engine 6 on Willow St.
He was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church and a member of the Waterbury Fireman’s Aid Association.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Loretta (Guilfoile) Sweeney, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday morning at 8:30 from Bergins Funeral Home, 290 East Main St. to St. Margaret’s Church for a solemn high mass at 9. Burial will be XXcan’t read thisXX call at the funeral home tomorrow from 7 to 10 P.M. and Sunday from 2 to 10 p.m.
