Waterbury Republican Newspaper pg. 10, Nov 26, 1932

John Rinaldi 53, dropped dead while sawing wood at his farm in Woodbury yesterday afternoon. He was found by his son and taken to Waterbury hospital and was dead upon entrance. Medical Examiner Edward H Kirschbaum attributed the death to heart trouble. He is survived by seven sons Michael, Joseph, Anthony, Peter, Frank, Fred and Albert Rinaldi; two daughters, Mrs. Timothy McSweeney and Miss Eva Rinaldi; two brothers, Ralph and Salvatore Rinaldi all of Waterbury; one sister, Mrs. Salvatore Carlo of Italy. He was born in Italy and had come to this country and to Waterbury 34 years ago. He lived in Waterbury all of this time and owned a farm in Woodbury. He was employed by the American Brass Co. The body was taken to the home, 1225 Bank Street, from where the funeral will be held Monday morning at a time to be announced later.

The funeral of John Rinaldi took place yesterday morning at 8:15 o’clock from the house, 1225 Bank street, to the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, where a solemn high Mass of requiem was celebrated at 9 o’clock, by Rev. M.J. Lynch with Rev. John Flanigan as deacon and Rev. John McCarthy as sub-deacon. The bearers were Michele and Angelo Carlo, Marzio and Salvatore Ciarlo, Louis Longo and John Guerrera. The burial was in Calvary cemetery.


Catherine Rinaldi

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. and Kennebunkport, Maine -- Catherine (Bresnahan) Rinaldi, 88, a resident of Delray Beach, Fla., and Kennebunkport, died July 24, 2006, at the Bradford Common, Kennebunk after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Waterbury, Conn., on March 24, 1918, a daughter of John and Catherine (Brown) Bresnahan. She graduated from Catholic High School in Waterbury, Conn., class of 1936.

She was a secretary for the Kay Jewelers from 1940 to 1956, then she and her husband Fred, founded and operated Mark Eyelet Inc. of Wolcott, Conn., which they ran together until 1985 when they sold the company to AMP Inc. of Harrisburg, Pa. She moved to Kennebunkport in 1986, and helped operate the Kennebunkport Maritime Museum and Antique Shop until 1999.

She spent her winters in Delray Beach where she was a member of St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church. She also was member of St. Martha Catholic Church of Kennebunk.

She was predeceased by her husband Fred Rinaldi, who died in 1989, and her brothers, John, Thomas, James and Francis Bresnahan and two sisters, Margaret Bresnahan Powell and Mary Bresnahan.

She is survived by one son, John Rinaldi of Delray Beach, Fla., and Kennebunkport; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held today at 10 a.m., at the St. Martha Catholic Church, Portland Road, Kennebunk. Private interment will be at Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk.

In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorial donations may be to the Alzheimer's Association, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101-2406, in Mrs. Rinaldi's memory.
