I've been sewing Renaissance garb, Halloween costumes, LARP-ware, and special occasion cloths for
friends and family for at least 16 years.
My current project is sewing cloaks for the local
metaphysical shop in my home town.
Prior to that, when my children were small, I had a home based costume
shop that I really enjoyed; the kids loved having the world wide
open to their imaginations, dressing up as anything they could dream to be! They have been
princesses, pirates, assorted animals, Disney characters, wizards, super
heroes, and fairies. I started sewing 25 years ago when I found out
there is nothing grander than donning a 15th century gown and walking
through a country renaissance fair!
In truth I owe it all to my grandmother, an
incredibly wonderful woman who, when I was a child, I would sit and watch sew as we talked
about her coming to America. She patiently showed me
how to hand stitch as she turned out dresses, coats and night gowns for
her grandchildren.
I'd be happy to whip up a cloak for anyone, stop by the store.
